Architect Katelyn Parker and her husband Brian bought the Curtin House about 10 years ago in Tulsa Oklahoma. They were new to the city and “young and stupid” but they fell in love with the house and they went for it. They sent me some photos of their Tulsa bungalow renovation.

Katelyn shares what she has learned from the house, how it changed her practice, what she would do differently if she could and she offers tips for new homeowners.
She told me after the interview that her house had been part of the “red light district” in Tulsa up until the 1980s, and the fountain outside of her house was used by the working ladies, according to her neighbors.
They call the house “Fanny” after the woman who first owned the house, Fanny Curtin.
