Cover graphic for Episode 52 of Talking Home Renovations, "Renovation Story - Full Gut Renovation". The background is a blurry photo of a gutted house interior with debris on the floor.

Missy was a first time home buyer who bought a little old house that had seen much better days. She contacted me on the advice of a contractor that I worked with a lot and told me that she was closing on her house in a few weeks and had to start construction right away. Taking on a house like this and doing a full gut renovation is one of my favorite projects, so I took it on and got Missy what she needed to get construction underway. I tweaked the flow of the house and opened up the living room by removing the chimney and partition walls in the living dining area. I describe it in the one minute video posted below – check it out!

A woman with glasses standing next to her house, which is under construction. There is a portable toilet next to her, and the wall of the house behind her is covered with Tyvek HomeWrap. She is frowning.
In this photo I asked Missy to pose in front of her house showing her true feelings.
